Structural Repairs

When Fraser Bruce first carried out concrete repairs there were no pre-packed polymer based specialist mortars around. A standard mix was 3 bags sharp sand, 1 bag cement and 10 litres of latex, whatever latex was. Amazingly enough there are still sites which look as good today as they did then. However, technology has developed considerably and continues to do so. The better companies are the ones who have developed along with the technology. For obvious commercial reasons, manufacturers often choose particular contractors with whom to develop specific technology in the hope of initial financial benefit. This is usually short term as most of the main specialist suppliers such as the ones The Fraser Bruce Group deals with, are well aware of the various developing technologies which always keeps us either very well in touch, or, at the worst, not far behind the rest of the industry.

Whatever the technology or the quality of the product, unless it is applied properly and in the correct conditions or circumstances, it is useless.

Preparation represents a very large percentage of the cost of most systems. Unless the substrates onto which the products are to be applied are completely free of contamination and prepared to the manufacturers recommendations, the whole point of the technology and the development costs is lost.

We work closely with our suppliers and our clients to not only provide quality workmanship, but also value for money. Our intention is not simply to be the cheapest as this may often only be a short term benefit. If we are the cheapest - then good, but that is only likely when our competitors are well chosen and are equally high quality contractors. Our main concern is the technical input to our work.

"If you have a problem with a structure then contact us. We will visit site and carry out a survey as required. We will then choose the best repair system and products from our wide range of suppliers and produce a specification and costing for the necessary repair works. Following any required explanation or discussion, our highly experienced, directly employed operatives can carry out the works under the supervision of our management staff and in conjunction with our clients representatives."

Many clients use us in this manner on a regular basis as it minimises their input yet they know - with confidence - that they are having their own problem resolved correctly and efficiently by a team with literally hundreds of years of combined experience.
